This painting is inspired by the artist’s passion for trees as well as interest exploring her Northern Lebanese heritage and tree species unique to this region.

Cedrus is a unique tree genus with only 2 to 3 recognised species of true Cedar trees (not including variant species). 

Cedrus libani : native to Lebanon.

Cedrus deodara : native to Western Himalayas.

Cedrus atlantica : native to Atlas Mountains, Morocco.

The title ‘Guided by balance’ alludes to the natural phenomenon of balancing rocks, the practice of balancing rocks as part of meditative and artistic purposes, and arrangement of rocks as a navigational guide.
